Would love to hear more about the gray area (for me anyway) between micromanaging and scaffolding my almost 14 yo son. He doesn’t really want help, but is a hot mess without it. He starts high school next year, we’d all (including him) love to see him make his own breakfast, lunch and get out the door every morning with minimal guidance from us. But it seems impossible. Afternoons and homework management are similar. Yet, without that constant reminding, nagging it just doesn’t get done. No amount of timers and (abandoned) planners seem to help. I feel so stuck!
