Dear Parents,

The most frustrating part about having ADHD is that no matter how much I READ, LEARN, and UNDERSTAND about it, I still find it INCREDIBLY challenging to be mindful of my habits.

Very often, I will repeat the same mistake over and over again without being aware of it until long after I suffer the consequences and reflect on the actions I took.

Other times, I'll be fully aware of what I need to do but not have the energy to actually do it.

Sometimes it feels like I'm fighting a losing battle between my conscious mind (reason & logic) and my subconscious mind (autopilot).

That's why my message in this week's Vlog is so valuable if you or a loved one struggles with ADHD or executive functioning challenges.

What you'll learn:

1. The difference between your conscious and subconscious mind.
2. Two things you need in order to reprogram your autopilot.
3. How to have reasonable goals & expectations for yourself.

While it's important to arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible, what I've found to be most helpful in managing my ADHD is having a supportive community of people who help me feel less isolated on my journey.

That's exactly why I volunteer with CHADD (a national resource on ADHD) to facilitate FREE peer-to-peer and parent support groups in my local community.
